Event Description
WORKSHOP AVAILABLE FOR CLARK COLLEGE EMPLOYEES ONLY: Prerequisite: eL101 Intro to Canvas Zoom is an online meeting tool that unifies cloud video conferencing, simple online meetings, group messaging, and a software-defined conference room solution into one easy-to-use platform. This offers video, audio, and wireless screen-sharing experience across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and other platforms. Founded in 2011, Zoom's mission is to develop a people-centric cloud service that transforms the real-time collaboration experience and improves the quality and effectiveness of communications forever. This workshop will be offered in Zoom itself. You will learn about hosting and facilitating meetings as well as how to guide your students (meeting attendees) in participation. Topics include instructional best practices around setting up your profile with audio and video settings, sharing your screen, using the chat tool, polling and other group responses, using break-out rooms, presenting with presentation files (like PowerPoint), using the white board, recording your meeting, information about auto-captioning, and more. One to two days before the workshop date, you will receive a Zoom "invitation" with instructions about how to access the session. Webcams are optional; however, headset with mic is required! Contact Kathy Chatfield at kchatfield@clark.edu for additional information.
